After searching high and low for the elusive perfect lip balm to no avail, I decided to take matters into my own hands. My definition of the ideal lip balm is a not-so-soft and not-so-hard consistency coupled with a buttery glide and staying power. I have added heaping spoonfuls of nourishing golden jojoba oil and soothing annatto seed-infused olive oil helping to repair dry, chapped lips while providing a barrier against harsh elements. The end product is a hydrating, vegan matte formula that will keep your lips healthy and supple.

Annatto seed is a great addition to any skin-care product due to a high concentration of tocotrienol, which is a form of vitamin E. They are also a rich source of antioxidants, which are beneficial for protecting skin cells. My annatto seed-infused olive oil basks in the sun for a minimum of four weeks.
Orange and clove or pomander signify the coming of Yule, also known as Winter Solstice. Pomanders are a symbol of good luck and health. They were popularized in Europe around the Middle Ages and used as protection against sickness and disease.
An old friend asked me to assist with a simple skydiving technique, and although I'm the first to help out a good friend, the sporadic rattles on this tiny plane are slightly concerning. Nonetheless, I gather my red curls with one hand and tie a band around them with the other. Trembles are beginning to reverberate throughout my body as I pick up the light blue helmet and adjust the strap. But...like I always say, the best way to conquer fear is to face it head-on.
